essa & jasper
after meeting up exactly a year ago in morocco, essa & jasper from holland
came to see us after christmas and celebrated new year with us in grabs:
sledging a few times (on sledges and snowboards...), skiing/snowboarding
in wildhaus and unterwasser, playing roulette, skidding with cars, cooking
with wood, eating röschti and fondue, laughing a lot and enjoying the time
together. |

up the margelchopf
hiking up the margelchopf, my favorite mountain, just above grabs - after
less than 2 hrs you reach the top (on 2164m) and have a great view to austria,
germany and switzerland. more

snowboarding
in wildhaus / unterwasser
one of many days snowboarding in the toggenburg (wildhaus / unterwasser),
just 15 minutes from where we live. this time my parents joined us after
lunch. beautiful weather, enough snow (at easter) and still enjoying every
day on the snowboard! |

fläsch - a tiny via ferrata
as it rained in the night but we still wanted to go outside we decided to
try the tiny via ferrata from fläsch up towards the regitzer spitz...
a short but cool hike of about 2.5 hrs with two ladders and nice views. if

we spent a few days down in lovely sunny ticino, enjoying the lake, warm sunshine,
colored trees, picking up chessnuts to eat, hiking on monte generoso, eating
pizza and cleaning up the caravan with my parents. just a few shots here... |

and kai visiting us in grabs
after more than half a year we meet
up with tine and kai again, a german couple whom we met
in new zealand about five times. we had a great easter
weekend together, cycling, climbing, skiing/snowboarding,
collecting bärlauch in the woods, searching easter
rabbits, cooking, looking at bigtrip-pictures and dreaming
about traveller-life, eating, sight-seeing
in werdenberg, listening to gooood music and enjoying the
time together... |

week with seb
seb, a french friend, came to spend a great
week with us in the middle of october. he cycled here with his bike
all the way from france, travelling on, further east... we spent two
weeksfrom darchen
to lhasa
in tibet, just a year ago! while he was here in grabs we went hiking
and climbing in wildhaus (frümsel), climbing in brocheburg and
cycled to the schattenburg in feldkirch, had pizzas with his father
and friend, looked at pictures from our trips, dreamed about futur
travels and enjoyed the easy and sunny days. |

heinz & cecilia
we met fabiola, heinz and their lovely daughter cecilia when we
biked up to the voralpsee and enjoyed the warm weather together.
they also came to visit us in our new home. |

hiking
with dani & luzia
after an early phone-call, to tell me that nanouk was born, we met
dani and luzia to hike up from oberriet up the kamor, then up to
hoher kasten and eventually over to the staubere. it was a beautiful
day with sun but ice cold temperatures. as always dani and luzia
hiked much faster than we did, so it was a hard tour - but it really
was worth it! |
